The 26-year-old singer, who entered the jungle as a late arrival, was asked a few questions about camp life in the Bush Telegraph.
A fan asked: "What's more scary, Simon Cowell or the creepy crawlies?"
Jake answered: "Definitely Simon Cowell! The creepy crawlies are a dab hand compared to Si!"
Jake was a contestant on the current series of X Factor, but was voted off one month ago after ending up in the bottom two alongside Only The Young.
Speaking about whether he prefers singing or surviving in the jungle, Jake said: "It's hard surviving in the jungle, I feel like Tom Hanks on Cast Away. Singing is my passion but this is just a great opportunity. I'm really happy to be here and everyone's welcomed me as a latecomer."
While on X Factor, Jake recieved some critiscism from the judges - especially Simon and Louis Walsh - about his vocal ability.
Speaking to Reveal after his X Factor exit, Jake told us: "All the judges are quite cutting. Louis and Simon gave me stick, and Louis actually apologised, but I think it's pantomime as well.
"Simon's a nice bloke, but he's got to say what he's got to say on the show."
Before going in the jungle, Jake said he was hoping the judges would tune in: "I am sure they will have a little giggle. It will be pretty funny. At the end of the day I am not doing anything wrong."
And Jake's former mentor Mel B has certainly been watching the singer on TV! The former Spice Girl told her Twitter followers this week: "Watching @JakeQuickenden in the jungle - he is just fab."
