Mel mentored Jake on X Factor's current series, but the Scunthorpe singer was voted off just one month ago.
Despite his X Factor exit, Jake soon jetted off Down Under, and with much speculation ITV confirmed that he was to enter the jungle as a late arrival alongside Edwina Currie.
Watching Jake on TV last night (24 November), former Spice Girl Mel tweeted: "Watching @JakeQuickenden in the jungle, he is just fab."

Before going in the jungle, Jake said the opportunity to take part in the show was a dream come true. He said: "Things like this don't happen to me. I am just a normal bloke. It's such an amazing show - I said 'yes' straight away."
Jake also said he was hoping the X Factor judges would tune in, adding: "I am sure they will have a little giggle. It will be pretty funny. At the end of the day I am not doing anything wrong."
Jake has settled into jungle life perfectly, and on Sunday, he took part in his first Bush Tucker Trial... live!
Jake had to compete in a series of challenges called Critter Cube, where he was faced with green ants, cockroaches and even a snake draped around his shoulders!
Despite the obstacles, Jake confidently won all 10 stars for camp.
