Last week, James shocked fans as he announced he had quit Geordie Shore over Twitter - just weeks after Vicky herself announced her departure.
Addressing her co-star's decision to leave too, Vicky said she believes James has outgrown starring on the hit reality series, just like she did.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Vicky said: "James has been very happy in his relationship with his lovely girlfriend, over the years he's become less and less integral to the story.
"I think he just sort of had enough."
Although James has revealed he has left Geordie Shore, he will still appear on our screens in the current series, as well as series ten that will follow in the next few months.
Despite wanting to keep his exit quiet until the start of series ten of the show, James told his followers he was forced to announce his news early.
He tweeted: "I planned on announcing this with the launch of S10 but, have been forced to now as someone decided to spread fake rumours for a couple [of pounds]."
Initially the 24-year-old didn't give a reason behind his decision, but gym fanatic James has since told MTV he wants to pursue a career in fitness.
"I've got a lot of exciting fitness projects in the pipeline," he said. "I'm looking forward to what the future holds."
Meanwhile, at the time of her exit, Vicky revealed she was leaving Geordie Shore to concentrate on her relationship.
Speaking to Reveal shortly after announcing her news, Vicky exclusively told us she had "chosen the man she loves over the show".
"I couldn't leave the man I love for [Geordie Shore]," she explained. "It was difficult spending so much time away from him."
However, Vicky has since confirmed she has now split from her former boyfriend James Morgan.
Not delving into why they have broken up, Vicky simply told the Mail Online she and James "were done".
