Pixie Lott has said she is going to miss Steve Backshall following his Strictly Come Dancing exit last night.

During Sunday's results show, Steve found himself in the bottom two alongside Casualty star Sunetra Sarker and after failing to win over the judges, he was sent home from the competition.

And, one person who was sad to see him go was his pal and co-star Pixie.

Sharing a photo of herself and the TV presenter, Pixie told her followers she was going to miss having Steve around.

Captioning her photo, she said: "@stevebackshall noooo! Kindest man and so lovely to have around - we will miss you and your tree frogs SB! x."

And, she wasn't the only one!

Taking to Twitter after Steve's departure, Caroline Flack tweeteed: "That was very emotional. Will miss @SteveBackshall so much.. what a fun 9 weeks we had stevie :) xx"

While Frankie Bridge tweeted: "Gutted to say bye to @SteveBackshall I've got no one to bug with my stupid animal questions now!"

The girls' comments come after Steve and his professional partner Ola Jordan were voted out of the competition by the judging panel.

In the dance off, the couple had to perform their American football inspired Jive for a second time, battling it out with Sunetra and Brendan Cole.

While Darcey Bussell chose to save Steve and Ola, her fellow judges all voted for Sunetra and Brendan, with head judge Len Goodman stating that Sunetra had the "cleanest" dance.

Following the result, Steve thanked Ola for all her help throughout the show.

He said: "I'll be gutted to go but the first thing I have to say is to this extraordinary lady, walking out on Blackpool Ballroom floor with all that nostalgia and history, with a dancer of your calibre, being taught to dance by you is an experience I'll never forget and I am so, so privileged by that."

Meanwhile, the remaining seven couples will dance again in week ten of the competition.

Delighted to have made it so far, Mark Wright thanked his fiancée Michelle Keegan for being his good luck charm.

Before dancing on Saturday night, the former TOWIE star was treated to a backstage visit by his other half and it seemed to do the trick as Mark then sailed through to next week's show.

Joining Mark are Frankie, Caroline, Pixie, Sunetra, Jake Wood and Simon Webbe.

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday (29 November) at 7pm on BBC One.
