The pair, who have reunited with their bandmates after 12 years, were grilled about their past relationship on ITV's Loose Women today.
Hannah and Paul began dating in 2001 while in the band, and continued to date despite Paul's exit in 2002. But in 2006, after a five-year romance, the couple split.
When asked by the Loose Women panel if it was awkward for the exes to be working together again, Hannah joked: "That's why we're sitting so far apart. It's really awkward!"
All joking aside, Paul said it was in fact "great" to be together again. He responded "No, it's great to be back together, working together with everyone."
Joining Hannah and Paul on the sofa were bandmates Tina Barrett, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee and Rachel Stevens, who spoke about their recent reunion.
S Club 7 returned to the stage just last week during the BBC Children In Need appeal show, where they performed a medley of their greatest hits.
The group, who rose to fame in 1998, achieved four number one hits with songs like 'Reach' and 'Bring It All Back'. After Paul quit in 2002, S Club 7 eventually split a year later.
Now back in the limelight, S Club 7 have announced a UK reunion tour for 2015, and they also teased a return to our TV screens with a series similar to the hugely popular Miami 7!
