Jake had been dating Victoria Kerrow for four years - and she had supported him throughout his stint on The X Factor - however they called time on their relationship last month.
Just four weeks ago, Victoria posted a photo of herself and Jake on Instagram, telling her followers: "On my way to the xfactor again tonight to watch this one, he is doing so so well and i couldn't be prouder of how hard he's working."
But speaking ahead of his adventure in the jungle, Jake described himself as "single".
The 26-year-old singer told The Mirror: "I am actually currently single.
"We broke up about a month ago. She is amazing and I know she will support everything anyway. We are gonna stay friends.
"It is just different life paths. I just really want to concentrate on my career now. I have been given two amazing opportunities."
Jake made it into Mel B's category for the X Factor live shows this year, but was voted out by the judges following a sing-off with fellow contestants Only The Young.
Following his exit, Jake spoke openly about his desire to go on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! and admitted that he would "do anything" to get on the show.
In another interview ahead of his jungle stint, a shocked Jake admitted that he couldn't believe he had been picked to star in the ITV1 reality programme.
He said: "Things like this don't happen to me. I am just a normal bloke. It's such an amazing show - I said 'yes' straight away.
"I used to watch it with my older brother and we both said we'd love to do it one day. It's a real adventure and it is going to be so much fun."
Jake will be entering the jungle tonight (20 November) alongside former MP Edwina Currie.
Their arrival comes after Gemma quit I'm A Celebrity and Craig Charles made the decision to withdraw following the sudden death of his older brother Dean.
