The singer – who was eliminated from X Factor earlier this series – will make a late arrival in the Australian jungle in scenes to air on ITV tonight.
Speaking ahead of that, he assured fans: "Music is what I want to do. I've already got some songs written that I'd love to release on an album one day. But this is not going to hurt anyone and it is such an amazing opportunity."
As for what he reckons the X Factor judges will think about him on I'm A Celebrity, he predicted: "I'm sure they will have a little giggle!"
'It will be pretty funny," he continued. "At the end of the day, I am not doing anything wrong. I really have landed on my feet and it is so nice. If I hadn't left the X Factor I probably wouldn't have been offered this, but doing I'm A Celebrity could open up so many doors."
Jake will be entering the jungle alongside Edwina Currie.
Their late arrival comes after two original campmates had to leave.
TOWIE star Gemma Collins quit after just three days after complaining of hunger and the jungle conditions. Coronation Street actor Craig Charles chose to withdraw after learning his brother had died of a sudden heart attack.
I'm A Celebrity airs nightly on ITV.
