Eamonn Holmes has suggested Gemma Collins will gain more publicity from quitting I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! than she would have if she'd won the show.

TOWIE star Gemma dramatically walked out of the Australian jungle just three days into her experience in scenes which will air on tonight's episode.

Speaking to ITV's This Morning, presenter Eamonn – who is in Australia at the minute – said Gemma would still walk away a winner even without the winner's title.

"I think she's done better in terms of publicity than she would have if she'd been crowned Queen of the Jungle, actually," he said.

"I think she's quite aware of what's going on but maybe not totally in control. But we're all talking about her, and next year we will refer back to her as well. She is the talking point of this year's jungle so in a way she does win!"

Gemma has been struggling to adapt to jungle life.

Gemma had been struggling to adapt to life in the jungle after being thrown into the Celebrity Slammer camp, which is a jungle-style jail with harsh conditions and limited food.

To win a place in the normal camp, the remaining celebrities in the Jungle Jail had to face a night in a bunker filled with nasty little creatures and creepy crawlies. Those scenes haven't aired on TV yet.

Eamoon said: "My theory is they were in the slammer and they'd served their time in there and they were under the impression the other housemates were having it rather easy in the other camp, and they've come out of the slammer and then they faced this overnight trial. 24 hours in a bunker!

"And that must've have been really demoralising for them because they were then going to be placed in this room with rats, crocodiles, snakes, darkness. Horrendous sort of stuff going on for 24 hours and maybe that's what tipped her over the edge. And let's not forgot, she was in a very vulnerable state coming out here in the first place - she said she was 50/50 [about coming out], her romance had broken up, it was a tough call for her."

He added that the production team felt Gemma's departure would be a "big loss" to the show.

Gemma's exit will be shown on tonight's I'm A Celebrity, which airs 9pm on ITV.
