Despite the official celebrity lineup for I'm A Celeb having already been announced, Gemma has now sparked speculation she could be a latecomer to the Australian jungle.
"I'm not allowed to elaborate," she told the Mail Online. "But, it would be a great challenge."
Not allowed to elaborate? We wonder what she means by that...
Keeping coy on whether she will be mingling with the jungle critters this series, Gemma did say she and her family are big fans when it comes to the show.
She added: "It's a great show and my family and I watch it every year... but, I don't really know what's next myself."
In recent weeks, Gemma has been heavily rumoured to be heading Down Under after she quit her role as Carmel McQueen in Hollyoaks after eight years.
Stating she was looking for new challenges, the soap actress has previously admitted she loves I'm A Celebrity and thinks doing the show would be a "life-changing experience".
But any hopes we had of her joining the camp were quickly diminished earlier this week when I'm A Celeb confirmed its lineup ahead of Sunday's opening show.
Although, we're sure like previous years, there's bound to be a few late arrivals...
While Gemma's name wasn't listed, those who are taking part include the likes of TOWIE's Gemma Collins, Melanie Sykes, Tinchy Stryder and US reality star, Kendra Wilkinson.
And by the sounds of things, this year's campers are in for a real treat.
Not only is the I'm A Celeb camp reported to be overrun with venomous snakes and ticks, but there is a twist in store for five unlucky celebs.
With the celebrities split into two camps, viewers will decide which set of campers will be locked up on arrival in the jungle-style jail - aptly dubbed the 'celebrity slammer'.
We. Can't. Wait.
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here starts this Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
