It looked like their brief return as part of The Big Reunion was a final goodbye from Atomic Kitten, especially as two thirds of the ladies are mums to young children.

However, Kerry Katona has revealed that the group are planning to record a new album in the new year.

Atomic Kitten performing in 2013 - could we soon be seeing them again?

She and former bandmates Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton will be getting back together for a longer stint following last year's Big Reunion ITV show and tour, which reformed pop groups including the Kittens.

Kerry told The Sun: "Atomic Kitten are doing a new album. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say, but we are. There'll be a tour all over the world with just the Kittens and the album should be out next year."

Kerry Katona says the group will record new music

She added that the group will stick to the sound that made them famous, saying: "The new music will be the original signature sound, which is cheesy pop. That's what people loved."

Could this mean we'll soon be getting more Kitten classics like 'Whole Again' and 'It's OK'? Here's hoping!
