Last week, Sharon confirmed on ITV's Loose Women that the groundbreaking series will be back for no more than eight episodes.
The news excited fans who watched Sharon take centre stage with her rocker husband Ozzy, alongside their son Jack and daughter Kelly, from 2002 to 2005.
With filming due to kick off in January, Sharon spoke about her family's return to the screen last night on US chat show The Talk.
Referring to it as more of an "update" than a "proper series", Sharon said: "At most, there will only be six to eight episodes and it's a catch-up on our lives and where we are now because it's been so long since we've been seen as a family."
Sharon said she can't wait for viewers to see the new family dynamics with 30-year-old Kelly and 28-year-old Jack, who now has his own family with wife Lisa Stelly and their two-year-old daughter Pearl.
"Our family has grown," Sharon continued. "We have a granddaughter and a gorgeous daughter-in-law."
Talking about Ozzy's decision to film new episodes, former X Factor judge Sharon said: "It was all my husband's doing because he looked back on his life and he said, 'I wish we could have done The Osbournes now where I'm clean and sober'.
"Ozzy is coming up with his last tour with Black Sabbath and there's so there's much to talk about."
The Osbournes originally aired on MTV, but a spokesperson has since confirmed to E! News that it will not return to that network.
