Jay, who is being mentored by Simon Cowell on the ITV talent show, looked to be in good spirits despite narrowly avoiding being voted off the show over the weekend.
Last night, Jay joined his fellow contestants at the Hunger Games premiere in London's Leicester Square, where he walked the same red carpet as the film's stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.
He tweeted: "Going to a movie where the stars of the film are watching it with you is quite possibly the surrealist moment yet. #mockingjaypremier is absolutely unbelievable."
Jay's good mood follows on from an emotional results show on Sunday night (9 November).
Jay ended up in the bottom two alongside Mel B's act Paul Akister, but it was a nail-biting moment with the judges' failing to reach an unanimous decision.
Louis Walsh took the vote to deadlock, meaning Paul - who had the fewest votes - was sent home.
Since then, fans have speculated whether Paul will make a return after executive producer Mark Sidaway said he's "gonna try and make something happen".
After being saved, Jay told fans: "A massive thank you to absolutely every single wonderful human that voted and supported me this weekend! Hands down you're the reason I'm still in this competition.
"Absolutely devastated to lose Paul, such a rare talent & literally one of the best vocalists I've ever heard. I'm lucky & blessed to fight another day, after this that's exactly what I'm gonna do. #timetostartpunching."
