Holly Willoughby made a surprise return to This Morning earlier today following the birth of her third child Chester.

Holly, who is currently on maternity leave, paid a visit to the studios during chef Gino D'Acampo's cooking segment on the show.

While Gino prepared a roast balsamic chicken and spicy potato dish with Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden, Holly walked in saying: "Oh, I hope you've got an extra plate!"

Celebrity Juice team captain Holly, who usually presents the daytime show with Phillip, went on maternity leave in September.

Mum-of-three Holly gave birth to son Chester with husband Dan Baldwin on 29 September, and she couldn't wait to tell Phillip, Amanda and Gino about her newborn.

"Chester is really good," she told them. "He's six weeks today - he's here, my mum's got him, he's fine."

With Chester being looked after backstage, Holly hugged her colleagues and admitted: "I'm good. I was so nervous though, I was like, "Oh my God, can I go on, can I go on'."

Holly and Dan, who tied the knot in 2007, are already parents to daughter Belle and son Harry. After announcing the birth of Chester, she told fans on Twitter: "I'm sooo happy to tell you all - we've just had a baby boy! Chester William Baldwin made a grand entrance at 8lbs 12. He's just perfect."

And just a day after giving birth, Holly phoned into the ITV show from her hospital bed, revealing that she'd opted for a water birth.
