Former Spice Girl Mel dismissed reports that the pair don't get on, stating that they are in fact "good friends".
Speaking on Alan Carr: Chatty Man, which will air tonight (7 November), Mel said: "She is such a lovely girl, and man has she been through a lot, a lot - and it's all been on public display.
"One thing I like about her, she's just solid and true," Mel continued. "And she's gorgeous, nice to talk to.. she's not b***hy at all. Trust me, if she was b***hy she'd be on the floor. I'd 'ave her.
"She's really become a good friend of mine. I value her opinion outside of work and we text each other. It's nice."
Mel even joked that she'd like to take part in a mud wrestling contest with Cheryl: "That'd be quite hot, I'd like to do that."
When asked by Alan what she thought of Cheryl's performance on The X Factor last Sunday, Mel was quick to defend her pal.
This week, former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl hit back at internet critics who speculated she mimed during her performance of her new single 'I Don't Care'.
"Listen, I had a front row seat and it was HOT," said Mel. "That girl can move. That husband of hers must be really happy, let me tell you.
"I thought she did a great job. I love her, she's sexy. And I have to sit next to her, cake my make up on... I'm sucking in with my Spanx on like, 'Ah ya b***h!'"
Alan Carr: Chatty Man airs tonight (Friday 7 November) at 10pm on Channel 4 with guests Mel B, Derren Brown, Sue Perkins, Nina Conti and music by Jungle.
