Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has hit back at internet critics speculating she mimed during her performance on The X Factor on Sunday night.

During the show's results show over the weekend, Cheryl took to the stage to perform her new single 'I Don't Care'.

Looking amazing as she strutted her stuff to her new track, Cheryl still couldn't escape criticism over her performance. After some people slammed the X Factor judge for allegedly miming on the show, she has now hit back, reportedly telling one Instagram user: "Don't mug yourself off, it's not cute".

Former Girls Aloud star Cheryl was supported by her BFF Nicola Roberts at the X Factor studios for her performance.

After taking to the stage, Cheryl's new single 'I Don't Care' shot straight to the top of charts and clearly impressed with her pal, Nicola tweeted she was "so proud" to watch Cheryl perform.

But, other viewers didn't seem as impressed. Following an Instagram post from Cheryl on Monday about her new album, Only Human, some social media users took the opportunity to slate the star.

Cheryl posted this image to Instagram referring to her album, sparking criticism about her X Factor performance on Sunday night.

When one user asked Cheryl if they would get "a discount" on her album as a result of her supposedly miming on Sunday night, the 'Crazy Stupid Love' singer is reported to have hit back at the user - who has since now deleted their account.

Cheryl is thought to have said: "Aww bless you live performances are not included on albums I'm afraid.

"I performed on Sunday! Don't mug yourself off on my page. It's not cute. Go teach some dance instead."

Brian vouched for Cheryl before performance, insisting she will be singing her single live.

Her comments come after fans learned Cheryl's X Factor performance had been pre-recorded.

According to The Sun, an X Factor spokesperson said Cheryl's performance had to be recorded beforehand as "logistically there wasn't enough time to build and remove the set live".

But, although her performance may have been pre-recorded it doesn't mean Cheryl was miming as she still could have sung her lyrics live at the time.

Ahead of her performance, the show's choreographer Brian Friedman insisted Cheryl would be singing live.

Speaking exclusively to Reveal he said: "She's been singing and dancing in rehearsal live, she's been singing and dancing every time we run it... She's putting in a lot of work."

Meanwhile, Cheryl lost another of her acts during Sunday's night show as Lola Saunders was sent home from the X Factor.

Lola faced boyband Stereo Kicks in the sing off, but with the judges torn on who to save, the vote was left to deadlock and Lola was unfortunately eliminated.

Following her exit, Cheryl tweeted: "So sad to lose Lola :( I thought she was amazing in her sing off."

Cheryl now has just one girl left in the competition, 17-year-old Lauren Platt.
