Cheryl was due to sing her new single 'I Don't Care' live on Sunday night's results show, but it has now been revealed that she will pre-record it to allow enough time to install and remove her set.
An X Factor spokesman confirmed to The Sun: "Logistically there isn't time to build and remove the set live."
This news comes despite X Factor's creative director and choreographer Brian Friedman saying Cheryl would be performing live.
Brian told Reveal last night that Cheryl is "really excited to hit the stage", adding: "She's been singing and dancing in rehearsal live, she's been singing and dancing every time we run it.
"At a rehearsal on Wednesday, Cheryl wanted more time. She stayed in there more hours than originally planned and she's putting in a lot of work."
However, although the performance will be pre-recorded, we are sure Cheryl's actual lyrics will be sung live - as opposed to being mimed.
SInce X Factor's live shows kicked off, Taylor Swift, Pharrell, Jessie J, Maroon 5, One Republic and Ed Sheeran have performed.
Aside from Cheryl's pre-record, John Legend will also be performing on Sunday. Cheryl's last performance on The X Factor was in 2009 with 'Fight For This Love'.
