X Factor judge Mel B declared she was "back at it" earlier today as she headed to the rehearsal studios with her boys following Sunday night's emotional show.

Losing the first of her four acts, Mel said goodbye to X Factor hopeful Jake Quickenden after he was voted off the show last night.

But making sure she she holds onto her remaining three acts - Andrea Faustini, Paul Akister and Jack Walton - Mel put her tears behind her and was back in the studio today hard at work with her boys.

Sharing a selfie of herself photo-bombing Paul's rehearsal, Mel vowed to be back on her game ahead of this week's Halloween-themed live show.

Captioning her photo, she joked: "Back at it, hard at work with @paulakister. Hold on why does @iainjames80 have hold of the mic? He can't sing, oh dear."

Mel's declaration comes after viewers saw the Spice Girl get visibly upset over losing Jake at the weekend.

During Sunday night's results show, Mel was seen teary-eyed as her fellow judges voted to save Louis Walsh's group Only The Young, stating they were the act with the most potential going forward.

Following the show, an emotional Mel explained why she was feeling so upset while appearing on The Xtra Factor.

Missing from the panel at first, Mel soon rejoined her fellow judges and told the show's host Sarah-Jane Crawford that she couldn't help but get "so attached" to her acts.

"You get so attached to these guys, my boys especially. I work with them day in day out," she said. "They have my home phone number, they have my mobile number, they know where I am, I know where they are - I'm constantly checking on them.

"They're like my kids, my family... I know it's a competition and someone has to go every week, I get it, but it still [stabs] you in the heart."

She added: "Jake is only going to go onwards and upwards. Hopefully [The X Factor] has given him a platform to really take a hold of that. He's one of my boys... I'm not going to be happy about it am I?!"

After his rendition of Daniel Merriweather's 'Red' failed to save him a place on the show, Jake was the fifth act to be voted out of the competition.

Following his exit, Jake has now hit back at the judging panel for their negative comments about his vocal ability.

Speaking to Reveal earlier today, he said: "I knew I didn't have the strongest voice but it's not The Voice, it's The X Factor.

"I was always trying to improve my voice and get better every week, and if I had stayed, it would have done."

X Factor continues this Saturday and Sunday (1 and 2 November) at 8pm on ITV.
