Jake saw his singing dreams come to an end on last night's results show after ending up in the bottom two with Only The Young.
Throughout the competition, Jake was complimented on his good looks and charming personality, but he was criticised about his vocals during each week of the live shows.
The judges said his voice just 'wasn't strong enough' compared to the other contestants' vocals.
Speaking to Reveal this morning (27 October), Jake says he "wasn't really bothered" by the negative comments.
"I had bad comments on Saturday and I didn't do as well as I should have done," he tells us. "Simon said it was 'horrible' but I thought we both sang pretty well considering the fact that we had to sing for lives."
Jake, who was mentored by Mel B, continues: "I knew I didn't have the strongest voice but it's not The Voice, it's The X Factor. I was always trying to improve my voice and get better every week, and if I had stayed, it would have done."
On Saturday, Louis told Jake that he should spend more time with the vocal coach and less time in the gym.
"Louis is Louis. He says all kinds of sh*t," says Jake. "I spend one hour in the gym a day and rehearse for seven hours. It doesn't really make any difference. If anything, that hour gives your mind a little break to calm you down. I didn't even go in the gym that much when I was in the house to be honest, I just went for runs."
Jake actually offered Louis a personal training session, but he isn't sure the Irish judge will take up his offer...
"I don't think Louis would be able to lift anything in the gym. He'd probably put he's back out. You know what, Louis is a really nice guy and if he wants a personal training session then I'll just up my prices!"
So who does Jake think is the harshest judge? "All the judges are quite cutting," he says. "Louis and Simon gave me stick, and Louis actually apologised, but I think it's pantomime as well.
"Simon's a nice bloke, but he's got to say what he's got to say on the show. You know if you've done well and you know if you've done bad, so you don't really need someone to tell you that. I'm my own worst critic."
Last week, Mel treated fans to a topless picture of Jake, and Jake has no qualms showing off his abs!
"I don't mind getting my kit off," he insists. "I spend most of my time in the nude anyway! I don't actually mind doing that stuff, I like it. It's pretty funny and I don't take myself too seriously."
Since his exit on last night's results show, Jake has thanked fans for their continued support, and he's been inundated with messages.
He reveals: "Twitter has gone absolutely mental with people saying they can't believe I've gone and that I'm going to be missed in the house and as a personality on the show. It's great that people are going to miss me."
Now backing his closest friends, Jack Walton, Paul Akister or Ben Haenow to win the show, what's next for Jake?
"Once my own music gets released I think a few ears will perk up because I don't think it'll be what people will expect of me. I'm quite excited. It's songs that I've wrote and it's about my life."
