Ed Sheeran has opened up about his bitter break-up track 'Don't', which is believed to be about his ex-fling Ellie Goulding.

Brit singers Ed and Ellie were linked back in August 2013 after they were spotted getting cosy at the MTV Video Music Awards, but shortly after she was said to have moved on with One Direction's Niall Horan.

A year later, Ed's number one album X hit the shelves featuring 'Don't', a track about a cheating singer ex, but he has never explained the meaning behind it.

However, Ed has now told The Sun: "It's a song that came at the time I needed to write. I got over the anger the moment I wrote it."

Hmmm, interesting.

Ellie has never confirmed or denied dating both Ed and Niall, however the finger was immediately pointed at her when the song emerged due to timing.

But it seems any alleged bad feeling has now disappeared, especially following Ed's recent comments.

Last month, Ed and Niall were also pictured partying together at the iHeartradio Music festival. Ellie, meanwhile, is super loved-up with McBusted boyfriend Dougie Poynter.

All's well that ends well!
