Former Luminites member Stephanie became the third act to be eliminated in last night's results show, after receiving the lowest amount of public votes.
Speaking to Reveal this morning (20 October), Stephanie says it was hard to hear criticism from Simon.
Stephanie was previously in a band called the Luminites, who rose to fame after reaching the live shows of Britain's Got Talent in 2013, which Simon is also a judge on.
Last week, Simon told Stephanie that she was more suited to being in a group, explaining that he thought she lacked the "confidence" to be a solo singer.
"It was hard for me because Simon was like, 'You're so nervous' and he was knocking my confidence," Stephanie tells us. "But at the same time, he wanted me to be confident. I was like, 'Your such a powerful man, how do you take that and want me to be confident?' But it is what it is and I was so lucky to get where I got."
Stephanie performed a reggae version of Blondie's hit Call Me' on Saturday night, with the judges agreeing that it was better than her performance on week one.
"I didn't actually want to go solo," Stephanie continues. "We [Luminites] got dropped. It was quite a hard time for me because when we got dropped I was really down. It was more like a self challenge to see if I could go solo.
"Simon was really supportive and said I was much better going solo. So when it came to the live shows and he kind of turned, it was hard to take."
Now out of the competition, Stephanie still wants to pursue a solo career.
"I think there's amazing opportunities that have come along for me to be by myself," she says. Watch this space!
