Last night (15 October), viewers watched as Chloe called time on her relationship with Elliott, saying she felt "trapped and suffocated".
Before their crisis talks took place, Elliott had admitted he was feeling frustrated with his girlfriend and told cousin Jessica Wright that he felt surprised by her desire for more space.
Following his chat with his cousin, Elliott revealed more in a new video on the official TOWIE website.
Although he admitted their relationship lies in Chloe's hands, Elliott did say he "couldn't continue" being with Chloe with things the way they are.
He explained: "I can't continue like this, blowing hot and cold, you're either with someone or your not.
"A relationship for me is supporting each other, protecting one another to a certain degree. You should want to spend time with one another, if you've got problems you stick by each other. That's what a solid relationship is."
Elliott added he was finding his relationship with Chloe frustrating lately after noticing his girlfriend's feelings towards him kept switching.
Left unsure about their future, Elliott said: "Anyone in my position would be feeling the same. Mixed signals with anything… it's unworkable I think."
Since the split, Chloe has admitted she can be "selfish" sometimes because of her need to be independent.
Confessing she likes to do things her own way, she said she was left feeling confused after not having her own space because Elliott is around all the time.
Will the pair be able to work things out? We do hope so!
TOWIE continues on Sunday 19 October on ITVBe.
