5ive's Scott Robinson, Ritchie Neville and Sean Conlon have opened up about Abz Love's shock departure from the group last month.

In September, Abz stunned fans by announcing he had quit 5ive, and his bandmates found out the news like everyone else – via Twitter.

Now as a three-piece, 5ive are preparing to embark on 'The Big Reunion Boy Band Tour', and they say they have absolutely no plans to quit.

"We haven't heard from Abz unfortunately," Sean exclusively tells Reveal. "I don't think he was happy towards the end and it seems he's not very happy now, but we wish him the best of luck."

Dad-of-four Scott also tells us that he hasn't been in contact with Abz, but has no hard feelings: "I texted Abz and he didn't get back to me. I don't think Abz was enjoying himself in the band but we genuinely wish him the best."

5ive are continuing as a three-piece.

The band are adamant that Abz has no desire to return to the group. "No one's forced to do this process," says Sean. "Everyone's got be happy."

5ive - originally made up of Abz, Scott, Ritchie, Sean and Jason 'J' Brown - found fame in the 90s with a string of chart topping hits including 'Everybody Get Up', 'Let's Dance' and 'Slam Dunk'.

The group split in 2001, but they reformed for a second shot at fame on The Big Reunion last year. However, J decided not to take part in the reunion.

Reflecting on their new group dynamic, Ritchie reveals: "I'm more than happy to be a three-piece. It's never felt better to be in 5ive and it's never felt better on stage. To be honest, five people just get in your way, do you know what I mean? You've got a bit more space to move around now."

5ive will be hitting the stage on Friday 17 October at Sheffield to play the first of their 13-date tour. With just two days to go, the group assure fans that this won't be the end of them.

"We're 5ive, we'll always be 5ive and we love being in 5ive," says Scott. "We love it. Our fans don't want this band to break up as much as we don't want this band to break up."

Ritchie concludes: "Our fans have been absolutely amazing throughout the past month. Why should somebody else's decision make you go, 'Oh I can't be bothered' because that makes you a quitter and we're not quitters. You've got to take what cards you dealt with and play the game with them."
