Mark Wright's performance on Strictly Come Dancing has provoked an angry reaction from professional dancer James Jordan.

The outspoken former SCD star and CBB finalist found he couldn't hold his tongue while watching Mark's paso doble on Saturday night (11 October).

Although he made it clear he had nothing against Mark as a person, he was quick to criticise his dancing AND the show.

After Mark performed his Superman-themed dance during Movie Week, James blasted: "And that's why I'm happy I'm not back. Nice guy but pathetic idea. Makes a mockery of ballroom and Latin."

He went on to elaborate: "Even when he was doing the paso, it was really bad! No power, no control, messy out of time knee walks terrible. A joke for me!"

Ouch - that's got to hurt!

James, whose wife Ola is still in the show and partnered with Steve Backshall, didn't stop there either.

He said: "Mark can dance.... They made his dance comedy tonight. He is too good for comedy! WHY?????

"Please RT if you think Mark's dance was a joke and totally not necessary. Just so I know I'm not the only one."

Mark, who is partnered with Karen Hauer, has not responded to James' tweets.

His entertaining routine saw him turn from geek to superhero, but the judges seemed undecided about whether they liked it or not.

Guest judge Donny Osmond said: "You are Superman, buddy! I loved it. I just wish I could do that flying thing.

"I thought that was fantastic. I loved it."

However, strict judge Craig Revel Horwood called it "stiff" and admitted it "lacked shaping".

Mark received 35 points out of a possible 50, which left him in the middle of the leaderboard.

After the live show, Mark joked: "Well I think I got a bit excited haha !! I just loved it to much !! #superman please vote."

The Strictly Come Dancing results show airs on Sunday night (October 12) at 7.20pm on BBC1.
