The dad-of-two sent the judges and studio audience into a frenzy on Saturday night (4 October) with his hip-swivelling moves and he beat his celebrity competitors by a mile to bag 'performance of the night'.

But after getting an impressive 35 points in just his second week, it appears that Jake's almost-perfect routine came with some scepticism.

Writing on his Twitter account yesterday, Jake quashed any speculation: "Just to clarify I have never had a dance lesson in my life. Ever. Fact #StrictlyComeDancing #HisNameIsJake."

The judges loved Jake's routine, with Bruno Tonioli saying at the time: "Yes, a squillion times yes! I tell you, hips don't lie! That was undiluted full-on fantastic!"

Meanwhile, head judge Len Goodman even declared: "Well spank me gently with a wet chamois!"

On Sunday, MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace and his dance partner Aliona Vilani became the first couple to be eliminated from the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing continues with a movie-themed show on Saturday 11 October at 6.30pm on BBC One. The results show will air on Sunday 12 October at 7.20pm on BBC One.
