The 25-year-old from Lancashire won his place in the series eleven live shows over the weekend, wowing judge Mel B and her guest mentor Emma Bunton at their Judges' Houses in Cancun, Mexico.
He joins Jake Quickenden and Andrea Faustini in the Boys Category.
Paul reached Judges' Houses back in 2012 but was sent home by Louis Walsh, a decision that Simon Cowell criticised this year.
Showing off his X Factor makeover, the singer said: "I'd already planned to have a meal with family and friends if it was a 'no'. And now that it's a 'yes', it's going to be A MEAL! And a few drinks."
Looking ahead to the live shows, which start at the weekend, he said: "All the way through, I've shown I'm an old-school soul singer. But to survive in the music industry, you have to show you can put that voice onto a modern track so I want to show I can do modern things. And show that I will last a long time."
He cites his dream duet partners as Stevie Wonder and Usher... And you never know! We've seen megastars like Rihanna, Beyonce and Christina Aguilera appearing on the show in the past. It could happen!
Paul added: "Now I've got through, I don't have to worry, I can just be myself. It's crazy. I've always said there's a fine line between being confident and cocky. So I don't want to be too cocky. But I'll definitely be more confident."
