And coming from a former Dancing On Ice champ, she sure knows what she's talking about!
Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards last night (1 October), Hayley said Mark - who is engaged to her close pal Michelle Keegan - had been quizzing her on how he can use his face to perform while he's dancing.
More than happy to help, the 37-year-old even let him practice on her!
She said: "I met Mark last week and he's been asking me what he can do with his face! The tip is if you use your face then it takes it away from your feet... if your feet are going wrong, but you're using your face you get a few more points!"
She continued: "We talked about facial expressions and practiced a few. We actually did! We were standing there with Michelle in some sort of bar doing a few facial reactions and I was like, 'yes, that's it! Do that!' I hope he does really well."
Although Mark performed an energetic Cha Cha with dance pro partner Karen Haeur for his first live performance last weekend (27 September), he was told he came across "too cocky" by the panel.
But defending Mark's performance, Hayley said his over-excitement could be down to battling the nerves.
Speaking from experience, she said: "I know when I did Dancing On Ice you get so nervous and sometimes I couldn't even feel my legs. I knew I had skates on the end... we used to call them jelly legs because your legs just shake forever. You can get nervous during stuff like that, but I like Mark, I think he's sweet."
After proving to be quite the mover on the ice, Hayley said she would take up the chance to compete on Strictly "in a heartbeat".
Admitting ballroom dancing is something she has been itching to do since being a kid, Hayley said: "I used to dance, but I never did ballroom and I used to go and watch the ballroom dancers and I'd sit and watch for hours. Anything to do with dancing and performing, I'd love to do it!"
In the meantime, Hayley is busy playing Andrea Beckett on Coronation Street. Joining the cobbles last year after first being in Emmerdale, the soap star felt she was "so lucky to have been in two soaps" and sometimes still has to "pinch herself" when she's filming on Corrie.
She added: "Sometimes I stand on the street and I go, 'Oh my god!', I actually took a picture and sent it to my mum and was like, 'I'm actually in this!'"
Since being on Corrie, Hayley has grown close to her castmates and said she was so pleased for Michelle Keegan after landing herself a new role in BBC One drama, Ordinary Lies, shortly after leaving the Street.
She said: "She's done so well. That's amazing as an actress to move from one job to another... It's what we all hope for."
