Pixie Lott has admitted she thought her onscreen "break up" with boyfriend Oliver Cheshire in her new music video was real!

Last week, Pixie unveiled her video for new single 'Break Up Song' and chose Oliver to have a starring role.

Oliver plays Pixie's onscreen boyfriend and throughout the video the couple go through a heated split - which Pixie has now revealed made her burst into tears on camera as she "thought their break up was real".

Oh, Pixie!

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine earlier today, Pixie said: "One of the takes we did, I burst my eyes out crying, I was so sad because I really got into the character and I thought it was real!"

Real it isn't and Pixie and model Oliver are still just as loved-up as ever, so why would the singer put herself through the emotional drama?!

Err... it seems exactly for that reason. To make it believable.

She said: "I really wanted to do a video where you see the emotion and people can relate to it. I thought the only way I could do that and get it the most real was to do it with my boyfriend... and we really got into character."

When she's not busy with her new music, Pixie is currently dancing up a storm on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing.

Last weekend (26 September), Pixie performed her first live dance of the competition with dance pro partner, Trent Whiddon.

Jiving to Taylor Swift's 'Shake It Off', Pixie wowed the judges with her fancy footwork, but how did she find taking to the Strictly ballroom?

"I was so nervous. It was sort of like a blur... It was fun, I loved it", she said.

Insisting she's not at any advantage despite having a dance background, Pixie said she is finding it tough having to learn so many rules for each different dance.

Pixie joins a star studded Strictly line-up this year, including the likes of former TOWIE star Mark Wright, The Saturdays' Frankie Bridge, Caroline Flack, Scott Mills and Eastenders actor Jake Wood.
