X Factor hopeful Stephanie Nala has said the Boot Camp 'six chair challenge' was "the most nerve-wracking thing" she has ever done, especially now she is a soloist.

Over the weekend, viewers saw the X Factor judges whittle down their categories to their top six in a three-show Boot Camp extravaganza and winning a seat, Stephanie made it through to Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's judges' houses round.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain earlier today, Stephanie opened up about her X Factor journey so far and what her mentor Cheryl is really like to work with.

Dressed casually for her breakfast show appearance, Stephanie looked gorgeous in a long-sleeved black crop top and ripped jeans.

Originally in a band called the Luminites that made it to the Britain's Got Talent live finals earlier this year, Stephanie said going solo was "a lot harder than people thought" it would be.

Admitting to Charlotte Hawkins and Richard Arnorld she could no longer "hide behind anyone", Stephanie said she felt auditioning as a soloist this time round on The X Factor was so much more difficult and made her especially more nervous than before.

When asked how she found the intense 'six chair challenge' during Boot Camp, Stephanie said: "I was freaking out. All the other girls were amazing… I was just panicking. You didn't know which way it was going to go and I knew who the girls were coming on after me. I thought I was definitely going."

Luckily for Stephanie she was picked by Cheryl for a place in her top six for the girls. Through to the judges' houses round, Stephanie will sing for Cheryl and her recently announced guest mentor Tinie Tempah in the South of France.

But what does the X Factor contestant make of her mentor?

Speaking about Cheryl, Stephanie said: "She's very nice. She connects with you, I think. She gets really close and that's why I think she finds it so hard because she loves every single girl and doesn't want to say no."

As Stephanie joins the other girls in Nice, Mel B is taking Emma Bunton and her boys to Mexico, Louis is whisking Tulisa and the groups to Bermuda and Simon Cowell will join Sinitta and the over 25s in LA.

Next weekend in another triple bill, viewers will see the judges decide which three of their six acts to take through to the live shows and as the live shows follow, in a new twist each judge will get to pick a wildcard act for another judge to bring back.
