Speaking to the Loose Women panel earlier today (23 September), Craig praised the 'Mama Do' singer when asked which celebrity has stood out for him this year.
"I think Pixie Lott is going to be fantastic," he said. "It's based a lot on personality as we know, look at Denise Van Outen she was a fantastic dancer but was pipped at the post.
"A lot of the really brilliant dancers are because the audience have 50 per cent of the vote and they actually in the end make the decision and it's as much you have to canvas votes through your personality and your journey."
Craig, 49, who appeared on the ITV panel show to promote his new book Tales From The Dance Floor, also spoke about the notorious 'Strictly curse'.
Over the years, it's been noted that a number of celebrities and professional dancers have split from their partners after appearing on the show.
When Jamelia quizzed Craig on the 'curse', he said it's all to do with the close bond celebs build with their partners.
"It has been known," he said. "When you're dancing the rumba, up close and personal for eight hours a day, well it does release the happy endorphins in the brain and a lot of people didn't have that before Strictly and then you start exercising and the chemistry between people changes. It's the secretary thing, isn't it."
Strictly Come Dancing live shows returns on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 September on BBC One.
