The latest series of The X Factor has seen Simon Cowell return to the judging panel along with Girls Aloud beauty Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and newly appointed judge, Spice Girl Mel B.
Glad that his friend has shaken things up on the talent show, Piers told the Mail Online: "I watched X Factor recently and I like having Cheryl back. It's great with her and Mel B and Simon seems to have gotten his mojo back."
Back in March, Cheryl confirmed she would be returning to The X Factor, but after her public sacking from the US version of the show back in 2011, Cheryl said Simon had to beg to get her back on board.
Admitting that he thought Simon's sacking of Cheryl was "unfair", Piers took a dig at the music mogul saying it was highly likely that the 54-year-old had to grovel to win back Cheryl after "treating her terribly" in America.
Meanwhile, as conversation moved on to Simon's son, baby Eric, former Britain's Got Talent judge Piers couldn't resist one more gibe at his former boss.
He said: "I never thought there would be room in Simon's life for anyone except the person he loves most in the world - himself."
A "gobsmacked" Piers never expected that Simon would settle down, let alone have children, but on becoming a dad, the TV personality said Simon is now a changed man and has definitely got "more cuddly".
Simon became a dad to little Eric earlier this year on Valentine's day (14 February) after his girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth.
On sharing the first photo of his son a few days after the birth, Simon said: "I never knew how much love and pride I would feel."
