Private naked photos of Jennifer were leaked online this month after her mobile phone was allegedly hacked – and close friend Josh isn't happy about it at all.
Josh told ET Canada that he hadn't spoken with Jen since the incident happened but made it clear he finds the whole situation "ridiculous" and unfair.
"I think everybody has their own way of getting through it. It's something you obviously don't want to happen to you and it's really unfortunate that it happens but, I hate the way the world sort of views these sort of issues – it's truly not fair."
Josh went on to say that both he and Jennifer had started their acting careers as children and had never wanted the publicity surrounding their private lives that comes with it.
For her part, Oscar winner Jennifer has not directly commented on the photos, although a rep has confirmed they are genuine.
This is a flagrant violation of privacy," said the spokesperson. "The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."
Jennifer wasn't the only celebrity targeted by the hacker. Naked images of more than 100 stars are believed to have been posted on an online message board after their phones were hacked.
