Retired footballer David, who is married to fashion designer Victoria Beckham, even joked that his "mid-life crisis must have started early" as he spoke at the showcase for his Belstaff collection in New York last night (9 September).
Speaking to a group of journalists, including The Telegraph, David said: "I'm excited about it. I'm not one of those people who is not looking forward to getting old. I'm happy with my life."
David, who is dad to Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, continued: "I have four amazing children and an amazing wife. I started riding motorbikes about eight years ago, so my mid-life crisis must have started early.
"But I'm happy where I am in my life right now and I am looking forward to my birthday next year. Hopefully it will be a low-key one."
David helped to celebrate Victoria's 40th birthday in April and the fashion designer enjoyed a sunny family break in the Grand Canyon, before holding a bash in London where she partied with her Spice Girl pals. We wonder if he'll be having a similar celebration?
While talking about growing old, David also admitted that he's taken a liking to flowers!
"Victoria is in charge of the house, but I am allowed my input into one or two areas," he said. "One of the things that has changed over the years... when you get older, you mature, and you start liking flowers. Although I try and keep it manly."
