Clarence House confirmed this morning that the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with baby number two. The couple's first child, George, turned one in July.
Kate, 32, had been scheduled to attend an official engagement with William, 32, in Oxford today, but she was forced to pull out as she's been suffering from acute morning sickness again.
The duchess also suffered with hyperemesis gravidarum during her pregnancy with Prince George.
William travelled to Oxford University alone today where he happily accepted well wishes from reporters.
When asked about Kate, he replied: "She's feeling okay, thanks. It's been a tricky few days, week or so, but we're immensely thrilled. It's great news. Early days.
"Hopefully things settle down and she feels a bit better."
William said he was on his way home to look after his wife. He also made a point of saying people should focus on the "big news" in the world right now. Perhaps a subtle request that the royal baby frenzy isn't quite so frenzied this time around?!
Second in line to the throne William was in Oxford to open a new China study centre. He was greeted with cheers, well wishes and flowers on his arrival.
Kate remained at home at Kensington Palace where she is being treated by doctors. Her next public appearance is scheduled for Wednesday evening at the launch of the Invictus Games but a rep for the palace has said they'll decide her schedule on a "day by day basis".
The duchess was hospitalised for three days in December 2012 after suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum while pregnant with Prince George.
George - third in line to the throne - was born on 22 July 2013.
