Abby Eades, 17, works as 'Cheryl' in a Girls Aloud tribute band called 'Girlz Aloud' and was shown auditioning for the Geordie star and the rest of the judges on The Xtra Factor last night (7 September).
Standing in front of the judges, Abby - who is from Barnsley - explained to Cheryl: "I'm in a Girls Aloud tribute. We do all the songs from your tour."
Cheryl, who found fame in the band aged 19, replied: "Wow, I would love to see that!" Simon then asked if she was going to "do Girls Aloud today" and, when she said no, he muttered: "Thank God for that."
Cue a very dirty look from the real Cheryl!
Earlier, Abby had been shown telling the Xtra Factor cameras: "First I was Nicola, then I was Kimberley and then I worked my way up to my goal, which was Cheryl. I have to learn all of her mannerisms and her accent."
Abby performed Christina Aguilera 'Bound To You' and especially wowed Simon with her vocals. Again, prompting another dirty look from Chezza, he told the teenage hopeful: "Wow, you can sing! I'm sorry, I was speechless for a moment..."
Cheryl, meanwhile, said: "That's the best rendition of that song we've heard. I actually don't like that song, but you sung it really well."
Abby got four yes votes, meaning she is through to the arena stage of the competition.
