The Wanted's Max George has shared his "bad hair day" selfie with fans, saying it's the first time he's experienced it after being a skinhead for 11 years!

'All Time Low' singer Max shared the close-up photo with fans on Instagram this morning before explaining why it's such a momentous occasion.

The 25-year-old said: "For the first time in 11 years... I can wake up with a bad hair day! #OhS**t."

Max's new look is a refreshing change from his skinhead, which he sported during most of his time in The Wanted.

But many fans loved Max's new head of hair and most seemed to echo the same message, as one devoted fan wrote: "You can never have bad hair!"

The Wanted's manager Scooter Braun also showed off Max's new image last week (19 August), saying at the time: "The face @therealmaxgeorge makes when he is unsure if he should shave his head again."

In January, The Wanted - made up of Max, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Tom Parker - announced their decision to take a break after their 'Word Of Mouth Tour'.

The group insisted it wasn't a split, telling fans that "it is not the end", but said they were hoping to "pursue personal endeavours".

Shortly after, Max explained in an interview that there had been "a lot of tension" in the group. He declared: "Our personal lives drove us apart."

With the tour now finished after wrapping up in May, the group's last performance will be at the Fusion Festival in Birmingham on Sunday 31 August.

Max, who most recently appeared on Discovery's Sharks After Dark documentary in the US, has also been auditioning for roles in Los Angeles.

Last night (28 August), Max posted a photo of sheets of paper spread across the floor. "Only 114 pages to learn! #loveit," he said.

Max, who was open about pursuing personal projects ahead of the band's hiatus, told The Sun earlier this year: "I've already been signed with CAA, a big agency in Hollywood. After the tour I'm going to move to LA, get a house and settle there. I'm going to do auditions and learn the business. There's talk of a couple of roles already."
