A rep for Angelina, 39, and Brad, 50, broke the news yesterday that they'd secretly married at their French château on Saturday, 23 August, surrounded by close friends and family.
The guest list did not, however, include Ange's dad.
But speaking to ITV's Good Morning Britain today, actor Jon said that he was thrilled about the nuptials and wished the newlyweds nothing but the best.
"I'm very happy about it, I'm very happy that I can now legitimately call [Brad] my son in law, this wonderful fellow who I love and that they're very happy," he said.
"The kids must have had a wonderful time at the wedding because they all had their things to do. It must have been very beautiful, I'm very happy for them."
Angelina and Brad's rep has confirmed that the couple's six children all had roles to play in the ceremony. Angelina was walked down the aisle by Maddox, 13, and Pax, ten, while Zahara, nine, and Vivienne, six, were flower girls, and Shiloh, eight, and Knox, six, were ring bearers.
Jon added that he can't wait to meet up with Angelina, Brad and the kids to celebrate.
"She's working now with Brad and I've got a couple of things to do too," he said, "but as soon as we can we'll get together, it's going to be exciting."
Angelina and Brad became engaged in 2012 following an eight-year relationship. They met on the set of comedy action movie Mr and Mrs Smith, where they played a married couple.
