Miley Cyrus has been banned from performing in Dominican Republic.

The 'Can't Be Tamed' singer had been due to bring her 'Bangerz Tour' to the Caribbean country on 13 September but its government has now declared she is not welcome.

In a statement, a government commission said that Miley could not stage her show because she "undertakes acts that go against morals and customs which are punishable by Dominican law."

Miley's concerts – and music videos – are well known for their controversial content which includes dirty dancing, skimpy outfits, swearing and plenty of twerking.

A rep for the singer has not commented on the ban.

Miley's current Twitter banner is a massively close up image of her naked breasts, with her modesty (barely) protected by stuck on silver star nipple stickers.

Her profile image is a Photoshopped picture of herself wearing a bra and thong and posing seductively while squatting. It's a play on the famous Nicki Minaj image.

Last year, the 21-year-old caused outrage with her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2013 alongside Robin Thicke. A parenting pressure group complained about her suggestive dancing which included grinding up against the married father-of-one Robin while clad in a skimy latex bikini and brandishing a foam finger.
