Lindsay Lohan has said she wrote her infamous 'sex list' as part of her Alcoholics Anonymous treatment and to discover it had been leaked was very cruel.

The Mean Girls star found herself in the headlines in April when a list of alleged conquests – including the names of several very famous men - was printed in several media outlets.

"That was a very personal thing," she told The Sun.

"I wrote it when I was at the Betty Ford clinic. Writing that was one of my steps in AA. The anonymity of that should never have been leaked – someone stole that and put it out. And that's a really cruel thing to do."

Lindsay added: "It's a really personal thing that you do with one other person and no one ever sees it. So that really hurt."

The star first confirmed that her 'sex list' was real on the season finale of her OWN reality show in April. She also told a US TV show that she thinks someone took a photo of it while she was moving house.

"It's your sexual inventory and that was in my Betty Ford book, so that was really personal to my sponsor. You write that for your sponsor," she said.

"That's not something I'd show anyone, besides my sponsor, who is also a very well-known person. The fact that that happened was not only humiliating, but just mean."

Lindsay said she thinks she knows who leaked the list and they have now been cut out of her life.
