According to The Sun, producers are thinking about giving host Sarah-Jane Crawford a partner for the talent show spinoff.
Sarah-Jane was announced as the new Xtra Factor host earlier this year, taking over from Caroline Flack.
Caroline had presented alongside Matt Richardson last series, and Olly Murs before that, but when Matt left, no replacement was named, suggesting Sarah-Jane would be working solo.
Now, a source has said: "It really worked when Caroline presented with Olly Murs so it would be great to have that sort of chemistry again."
The insider added that Sarah-Jane is more than capable of hosting a live show alone but the idea of co-host chemistry was appealing to producers.
Sarah-Jane was named Xtra Factor host in June.
In a statement, the 28-year-old said: "I've been a huge fan of The X Factor since day one and have watched every series religiously, so to be the new host of The Xtra Factor in its most exciting year EVER, is what dreams are made of.
"I'll be asking the judges the questions that people at home are screaming at their TVs - and you'd better believe I'm going in with a bang! I just can't wait to get on the road now and meet the auditionees!"
X Factor's eleventh series begins later this summer. It will see the return of judges Simon Cole and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, alongside regular judge Louis Walsh and newcomer Mel B.
