Just last month, Hannah Spearritt sent fans into a frenzy after revealing that the gang were all meeting up, which sparked new reunion rumours.
Now today, Paul has given the strongest hint that the pop group - consisting of Paul, Hannah, Tina Barrett, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee and Rachel Stevens - will be making a return to the stage.
He tweeted this afternoon (13 August): "Big thanks to everyone for your support with the S Club reunion."
Paul's first tweet alone left fans wondering if it was the confirmation they were all waiting for, but he soon added: "(Sorry guys, I'm not confirming the S's reunion . I'm just saying thanks coz there have been thousands of messages over the last year."
In a final tweet, 'Reach' singer Paul said: "But it's God Damn close, I can almost ..... Reach ...... The sword...."
That was enough to send fans into a frenzy once more, with many commenting on Paul being a "tease".
One fan tweeted: "Stop bloody teasing Cattermole!" While another added: "Shall I start queuing for tickets now? I sense its close!"
Paul's tweet comes just two days after reports emerged that the group have reunited for good.
A source told The Sun that the S Club 7 reunion is being backed by Pop Idol creator Simon Fuller, who wants their comeback to be "even bigger than Take That or Steps".
S Club 7 formed in 1998 and rose to fame by starring in their own hugely popular BBC television series Miami 7. The pop group achieved four number one hits with songs like 'Reach' and 'Bring It All Back'.
The group split in 2003, following Paul's exit from the band in 2002.
