Made In Chelsea newcomer Anna Louise Felstead has said she and her family were "relieved" to hear Binky had split from former boyfriend Alex Mytton.

Making her MIC debut as the first episode of Made In Chelsea: New York hit our screens, Anna Louise greeted sister Binky in the Big Apple to learn she had finally left her ex-boyfriend Alex.

Last series Binky had her heartbroken when Alex admitted to cheating on her on at least four occasions. But determined to make her relationship work, Binky stayed with her beau much to her families reservations...

In a chat with Mail Online, Anna Louise revealed that understandably she had her concerns when Binky continued to date Alex and "the whole family were pulling their hair out".

But now her sister has moved on from her former flame, Anna Louise is glad Binky has finally let him go.

She said: "[Binky] wasn't acting herself at all, she was blinded by him and was clinging onto that earlier feeling of being in a loving secure relationship. She is worth so much more than that... we're all very relieved it's over."

Chelsea beauty Binky has since spoken out since her split with Alex, telling The Sun she "knew it had to end".

Admitting she did love Alex, but she loved herself more, Binky saw the chance to film in New York as "perfect timing" to give herself a fresh start.

Lucky for Binky, her artist sister Anna Louise, who happens to live in NYC, was on hand to offer a shoulder to cry on.

"It was a given that I'd be there to support Binky following the break-up. Usually she has mum, her dog Scrumble and her friends in London so I was there to offer a strong family support network", Anna Louise told Mail Online.

And good job as it turns out Alex too headed out to New York to join his Chelsea pals, much to Binky's annoyance.

Although Alex wasn't in the first episode of MIC:NYC when it kicked off on Sunday (10 August), a sneak peek at next week's episode revealed the lothario will be making an explosive return and it's not long before he has co-star Jamie Laing in tears...

Catch the next episode of Made In Chelsea: New York this Sunday 17 August at 9pm on E4.
