Not phased by her early morning call, Denise looked bright-eyed and brightly dressed as she promoted her one woman theatre show Some Girl I Used To Know.
Appearing on BBC Breakfast, Denise made sure to nail her summer style as she teamed a fitted yellow dress with nude strappy sandals and a chic Chanel tote bag to match.
Sporting oversized sunnies and perfectly blow-dried locks, the 40-year-old looked fabulous as she revealed all on her self-penned musical while on the show.
Some Girl I Used To Know sees Denise play the character of Stephanie Canworth - a girl who thinks she has it all until she receives a Facebook message from a blast-from-the-past.
Speaking about her new role, Denise revealed she was inspired by a lot of what has happened in her own life when creating the show.
"There's definitely a lot of me in it, the emotional side of it, it's quite touching, as much as it's funny", she said.
But when it comes to her own personal experiences, Denise admitted she finds it easier to hide behind a character.
She said: "You know what, I had a lot of funny stories from over the years that I wanted to use, but it is easier to have that mask and play a character... I can do more with it then, I can elaborate on personal experience."
And having gone through her fair share of heartbreak, Denise split with former husband of four years Lee Mead last year, the mum-of-one insisted it's not always easy to deal with her own personal situations.
"At times it's been tough, but I'm very lucky, I get to do a wonderful job and I get to express that emotion and put it through a character on stage, which is exactly what I do, I channel it through the play."
Well she definitely has us all intrigued!
Some Girl I Used To Know is on at the Arts Theatre in London from 22 August - 13 September.
