Atomic Kitten star Kerry, 33, and former rugby league star George, 34, are already parents to daughter Dylan-Jorge, three months, while Kerry has four other children from previous relationships.
In an interview with The Sun, singer Kerry said: "George wants to have another baby soon because he doesn't want to be an older dad and we'd like the children to be close in age."
Kerry was speaking out following a difficult time for the couple.
Reports emerged on Friday that George had been briefly detained under the Mental Health Act after he was spotted acting erratically outside the family home.
George has since said the incident was likely caused by a mixture of alcohol, sleeping tablets and steroids – something he has vowed never to do again.
"The only thing the hospital could explain to me was that the mixture of things I'd taken made a chemical imbalance in the brain," he said.
"What was going on was just in my head. All I can say is – if you're thinking of taking steroids, look what happened to me. I was a fool. No good can come out of taking them."
Despite the incident, Kerry has assured everyone that their planned September wedding will go ahead.
"I know there have been rumours of the wedding being off but it is definitely going ahead. And it is not abroad – we are getting married in the UK."
Kerry and George met as teenagers in Warrington but romance didn't blossom until they met up again years later.
George proposed to Kerry at Blackpool Tower in April last year. Their daughter, Dylan Jorge, was born the following April.
