The Atomic Kitten star, 33, told The Sun on Sunday: "I want to make it very clear I am standing by George and whatever the doctors say, whatever help he needs - we will get it.
'We are going to do it the right way and the healthy way."
The police were called after George spent an hour acting strangely, shouting and being erratic in the streets near the couple's Oxfordshire home, last Wednesday.
He was detained under the Mental Health Act, taken to a nearby hospital and later discharged.
Now, it has been explained that taking steroids was at the heart of George's meltdown, mixed with a cocktail of alcohol and sleeping tablets.
George, 34, told the newspaper: "They sent me doolally. I was in another world. I wasn't sleeping, so I was taking sleeping pills and I'd been drinking and taken steroids.
"I'd been up for the best part of four days. With the mixture of those things I think something had to give and, unfortunately, we had the incident that we had."
The former Gladiator and rugby player explained that he'd begun hitting the gym and taking steroids obsessively because he wanted to get in shape for the couple's upcoming wedding.
Things clearly began to spiral out of control, and George added: "I took steroids as I wanted to be in fantastic shape for the wedding and look good in swimming shorts on holiday ... I've been foolish."
Now, George has realised the error of his ways and said: "Regardless of why you're taking them, no good can come out of it. I can only put it down to my own stupidity."
Kerry and George have been together for two years and their first child together, daughter Dylan-Jorge, was born in April.
They plan to get married in September, and we wish them all the best as they work through this.
