Jersey Shore star Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino has agreed to take anger management classes after being arrested at his own tanning salon last month.

The reality star allegedly became embroiled in a fight with his brother at Boca Tanning Salon, run by his family, in Middletown, New Jersey.

Mike was then charged with simple assault.

He's now been told to attend 12 weeks of anger management courses and if he completes them successfully, the charge could be downgraded when he returns to court.

Mike, 31, previously told People magazine: "I've been arguing and fighting with my little brothers since I was 6 or 7. I work with my family, and I sort of live with them as well, so ti gets a little tricky. There was a little discrepancy with work.

"I was a little upset or maybe there was a miscommunication, and the next thing you know, it turns into something else, and then the next thing you know, I'm in jail with a broken hand."

The fight is believed to have happened while Mike and his family were filming scenes for their upcoming reality show, which is set at their tanning salon.

He later told Star Ledger that he "didn't mean to go in there so aggressively" and that the family had moved on from the incident.

Mike shot to fame on Jersey Shore and later appeared on Celebrity Big Brother.
