'Recovery' singer James, who parted ways with Simon Cowell's record label Syco last month, tweeted yesterday (22 July): "Rule me out of that I am not doing CBB. I'm a big fan but I have turned down an offer from them."

When asked by a fan once again if he was taking part in CBB, James replied: "Definitely not, I've already turned down a life changing amount of money from them."

The new series of CBB kicks off when the current Big Brother series comes to an end later this summer.

Earlier this month, former TOWIE star Lauren Goodger denied claims that she would be appearing in CBB.

In May, Boyzone star Ronan Keating also dismissed reports linking him to the Channel 5 show. He tweeted at the time: "Love all the chat about me and Big Brother. Please know I am not in talks with anyone regarding this. Nor will I be."

According to recent reports, other celebrities rumoured to be entering the house this year include Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst, Misfits actress Lauren Socha and Gogglebox stars Steph and Dom Parker.
