Josie Gibson has thanked a team of doctors and nurses who cared for her brother after he was knocked down by a taxi.

Former Big Brother winner Josie took to Twitter yesterday and told a friend that her sibling Josh is "lucky to be alive" after he was struck by the car on Saturday night.

Josie has claimed the driver was travelling at 45mph and shared a picture of a battered and bruised Josh in his hospital bed in Bristol.

"Josh got hit by a taxi at 45 mph. Lucky to be alive," Josie said. She later added: "Big thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Southmead Hospital tonight.

"You are truly amazing people. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you x."

It has unfortunately been an unlucky year for Josie's family. In January, Josie's younger brother Harry, who is deaf, was beaten up by thugs on a night out.

Following the vicious and unprovoked attack, which happened in a nightclub, Josie said she felt the attackers could have killed her brother.

"There was so much blood and his head was on the stairs. He could have whacked his head as he landed - they could have killed him," she told Reveal.
