Cheryl is said to have turned down the paperwork, which would protect her rumoured £16 million fortune, before wedding Jean-Bernard (JB for short) on 7 July.
In 2006, when the Girls Aloud star married footballer Ashley Cole, Cheryl refused to sign a prenup as she felt it "defeated the point" of marriage. And it seems her views have not changed.
A source told The Mirror: "She is a canny businesswoman but in matters of love, she believes the heart should rule the head to a certain extent."
X Factor judge Cheryl stunned fans on Monday morning by announcing she had married Jean-Bernard in secret after three months of dating.
The couple tied the knot in front of just four witnesses - thought to be Cheryl's mum Joan, her PA Lily England and JB's parents - on the private Caribbean island of Mustique.
Following her shock news, Cheryl has dropped 'Cole' from her Twitter handle and it has been confirmed she is taking JB's surname.
Although the remaining Girls Aloud bandmates have not publicly commented on Cheryl's marriage, Nicola Roberts has said the couple are "happier than ever".
Cheryl has also taken to Twitter and said: "Thank you for all your kind messages and well wishes."
