Katie, 36, made the confession during her FUBAR Radio show this afternoon (15 July), adding that the dentist who did her veneers starred on US TV show Extreme Makeover.
However, the pregnant star - who is expecting her fifth child - insisted that she didn't have her teeth done for "cosmetic" reasons.
"I didn't do it for cosmetics, I fell off a skateboard and cracked my teeth when I was younger," Katie said.
"They were so expensive. When I was in the US, I watched Extreme Makeover and went to see the dentist on there - $150,000 my bloody teeth cost me.
"It's still my tooth underneath, but they shave them down so the veneer can sit on them. [My real teeth] look like pegs now. If I didn't have them I'd be Miss Peggy."
She added: "I've lost two at the side [since I had them done] and used to fly to America to get them fixed.
"I've lost another one now but will wait until the baby has been born to have it repaired, as I have to be put to sleep. They have to file the tooth down and, ooh, if they catch the nerve of the teeth.."
Although Katie is a big fan of her smile, she has warned her listeners not to have veneers done if they don't need them.
"I can't bite an apple, I have to chop it, she explained. "I can't even bite Sellotape. The teeth have no grip because they're so smooth."
This expensive confession comes a week after Katie admitted she once spent £22,000 on her hair.
As usual, Katie didn't hold back on her weekly radio show with Mark Dolan this morning. While on air, Katie gave her biggest hint yet that she is to forgive her cheating husband Kieran Hayler.
Katie was left devastated in May after she discovered Kieran had cheated on her with her best friend Jane Pountney. However, she has since confirmed that she will stand by Kieran while he is "getting help".
This morning, Katie said she would consider taking Kieran's surname if he "proves himself" to her.
Meanwhile, Katie also spoke about Kerry Katona, telling listeners that she is a fan of Kerry's fiancé George Kay.
