Speaking on Good Morning Britain earlier today, Peter revealed he is actually quite clumsy and tries his best to avoid any situation where he may be asked to show off his sporting talents.
Earlier this week, Peter tweeted he was behind schedule because he was busy with dad duties: "Late for work but Junior's play and sports day so it's allowed right???", he said. And Good Morning Britain presenters, Ben Shepherd and Susanna Reid, were quick to pull him up for it!
The 41-year-old singer - who has a reputation for being late! - told Ben and Susanna that by tweeting his reasons, he thought he wouldn't get into trouble. We wonder how that worked out for him...
Instead, Peter was busy at school for his nine-year-old son's sports day and when asked by Ben if he took part in the 'dad's race', the 'Mysterious Girl' singer quipped he was strictly a spectator.
He said: "I didn't need to run, he [Junior] did it for me. I was very proud of him."
Doting dad Peter seemed very pleased with Junior's sporting success, despite wondering where his son had got his running ability from.
Peter joked: "My son came first in his running race and I don't think he would have taken that from me... I certainly can't run!"
Peter's appearance on the ITV breakfast show came ahead of his presenting duties later today at the Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards. Winners at the awards include the likes of Pharrell Williams, Tom Jones and Paloma Faith.
Joined on the blue carpet by his fiancée Emily MacDonagh, the couple made a picture perfect pair!
